And the old gets hurt!!

As I wrote in an earlier post, we have joined a Kickball League at our church. I was so excited when I heard the announcement about this league. Now granted, I have not attempted to play Kickball since 4th grade but I figured I would still be able to handle it.

We missed the 1st game because we had tickets to the Winston Salem Dash baseball game. But we heard that our team blew the other team away!! When we got to the 2nd game, I heard some people talking about the rules. I thought to myself, "WHAT, there is rules for kickball!?!" So, of course I had to have someone explain the rules to me. The rules are basically just like baseball...you have fouls, strikes and balls. Pretty simple!

Our team consists of people from our Sunday School Class. People complain because they say our team has no one over the age of 30 on the team...which isn't true (Kyle is over 30 and so are others). Our 1st game was so much fun. I did rather well, considering I haven't ran in....I don't know how long! We won 9-0!!

Our 2nd game was this past weekend. Logan was able to go this week. He really wanted to play but knew that he couldn't. Lucky for him though, they didn't have enough people for every position so he got to play as their catcher.

This game was pitiful....It seemed like every single person on the other team was holding some part of their body throughout this game. Every time someone made it to first base, they had to call for someone else to run for them...it was pitiful, but hilarious!! Logan was laughing so hard!! Our team was telling them all, that they should have stretched before running like that!!! Although that team was falling apart, we did have one on our team that pulled a leg muscle!

We didn't even get to finish the game because they had no more "movable" players!! We did actually win though. The score was 7-1!

Logan called mom and dad that night to tell them about the game. Mom couldn't understand anything he was saying because he was laughing so hard!!! It was a funny, but good game!!

My Prayer For You......

Dear Son,

I prayed for you before I actually even knew you. I spend many of my moments through the day praying for you and praying that the Lord would make something special of your life. I feel that the Lord is going to do GREAT things in your life. He is molding you into a special treasure and I can't wait to be apart of the great things that you are going to do. I love you more than life itself and I pray that you will follow the steps that God has for your life. I am always here for you and I hope you know that I will always be proud of you!! I love you, Samuel Logan Koonts!!

Love, Momma

This is a song that I hear daily. The chorus has a wonderful message and I do include it in my prayers for you daily:

Be strong in the Lord and never give up hope.
You're going to do great things, I already know.
God's got His hand on you so don't live life in fear.
Forgive and forget, but don't forget why you're here.
Take your time and pray...Thank God for each day...
His love will find a way. These are the words I would say.

The day has come....

That my boy is finally home from the beach!!!!

I hate the fact that I have to share my child. I know that sounds selfish but I enjoy every day with Logan. I know he goes and has fun at the beach but it is heartbreaking not to get to kiss him good night every night.

His "dad" gets him 2 weeks out of the summer, but they can't be back to back. They chose to get him 1 week, then he came home for 1 week, and then he left again for another week. I hate that it was that close together but now he will be home all summer!! Except when he leaves for a week of camp with the juniors at church. He is so excited about that because he is finally old enough...he's a big 4th grader now!!

I am so ready to see my little monster at 4:00!!! I will be getting 1000 hugs and kisses!! He has called me every night and before he would hang up, he would whisper how many more days! And that he misses me so much and misses his daddy so so much!! That makes us feel so good!!

A Priceless Picture....

Many of you may remember my friend Jessica that passed away in January. When she died suddenly, she left behind a wonderful family and two precious babies. Abigail is now 2 and Brayden is 1 and they are so precious. I pray for this family daily, many times through the day.

I try to keep up with this family mainly through Facebook. Jeremy has become very precious to me. I know that he is struggling daily but the effort that he puts forth to make it through each day for those babies is incredible. He is an outstanding father in my eyes. I loved to read the things that he would write on Jessica's Facebook wall shortly after her passing (Please don't think bad of me but it was so moving). His cries to her were so moving and it made me realize that I need to love and show love to Kyle before it's too late. Kyle knows that I love him but does he truly know the depths of my love? Does he know that I would sacrifice everything just to make him happy? I would trade places with him at gun point, I would lay down my life for him....I realized all this through Jeremy's midnight cries to his wife. He just said over and over "I want you back, I didn't have enough time with you, our family needs you, I want to trade places with you!" I just wanted to run to Virginia and hug him and tell him that everything would be okay, but how can you tell someone who just lost their soulmate, that everything will be okay?

On Mother's Day, he had the kids make this stone with their hand prints on it and they left that at her grave. Seeing the picture of this artwork, was breath-taking. It was a priceless gift. The other week, Jeremy had sent me a message on facebook telling me to check out his new pictures. I seemed to miss the words at the end of that sentence telling me to make sure I grabbed some tissues. Those new pictures were simply breath-taking. And boy did I need those tissues. I wish that I could post them on here for you all but I can't, so I will just have to describe them to you. He had some really good pictures made with him and the kids and some great ones of Abigail and some of Brayden. Then there was 2 shockers at the end. There was two pictures done in black and white. The first one was of Jeremy, Abigail and Brayden and they were looking up and the kids have their hands lifted up...Jessica is in the corner looking down on them (it was amazing!). Then the other one was just of the kids and it looked like Jessica was holding Brayden in her arms. I don't know how this photographer made this happen but the pictures will be priceless to the kids when they get older. I wish so much that I could let you all seem them....Pictures really are worth 1000 words!!

Please keep the Breedlove Family in your prayers, especially with all these upcoming holidays! This family is near and dear to my heart!!

Too cute not to pass along...

Someone sent this to me today in an email....It was too cute not to share!

With time, women gain weight because we
accumulate so much information and
wisdom in our heads that when there is no
more room,it distributes out
to the rest of our bodies. So we aren't heavy,
we are enormously cultured,
educated and happy.

Beginning today, when I look at my bottom in the mirror
I will think,
Good grief, Look how smart I am!!

Bye Bye Ranger...Hello Edge

Kyle went car shopping last week. We have been looking at different things and we had narrowed it down to a Ford Edge or a Honda Civic. Both great choices but I was leaning more towards the Edge because I don't like sitting that low to the ground.

We have thought about trading in our van but it lost alot of it's value and it wouldn't do any good. Kyle's truck was paid for and we thought we would have a better chance in trading in something that didn't have any negative balance with it. We had several people who was wanting to buy his truck, but we were not keen on selling to someone we know...You just never know what will happen the minute it changes hands!!

So, we found the one that we really liked at Parkway Ford. It had a really good price on the windshield the night we went and looked at it. So, Kyle went back the next day and guess what...the sticker price was up almost $4,000!!! Kyle still sat there and talked to them, told them what we wanted and told them what we would not go over. They told Kyle that it this isn't a perfect world so he probably wouldn't find a deal like that!! Well, after several hours of sitting there and not getting the deal he wanted,he left.

We had also found one at CarMax that we liked. Kyle rode over to CarMax and found it. He test drove it, got a better deal than we wanted, traded his truck in, signed the papers and everything within 2 hours....guess it is a perfect world :)! I love this Edge!! The sticker price was WAY LOWER than the one at Ford, they offered cash for Kyle's truck, it has more "things" on this one and the Salesman was much nicer!

So...Kyle bought a Silver 2007 Ford Edge with wheels (which Kyle likes), DVD player (which Logan likes), back up beepers (which I like)...and alot more goodies!! Kyle did excellent with this purchase! And I am very appreciative to him because he did sell his truck and he is now driving the van (he is such a sweet man)! And he did get us a GREAT deal!!

~Thank you honey~

All you can eat......

Should not be said to my father and my husband!!

Kyle had gotten 4 "free" Dash tickets from work. And these tickets were called "Carolina Plan", which included all you can eat/drink (water and soda) and 4 seats right behind home plate. It was an amazing deal and Kyle had asked for my dad to go. We had been looking so forward to this night. Logan had been so excited. I told my boss, Chris, that Logan was so excited and that he said he wasn't going to eat all day so he could eat and eat and eat....

Chris gave Logan a free voucher for a free Dash hat...That made his night too!! I was more excited over the all you can drink...I love my soft drinks, especially when it's stinkin' 98 degrees!! They told us when we sat down that it was all you can eat up until the top of the 7th inning...So dad and Kyle said that at the top of each inning, they would be making a food run. You got to pick between a Cheeseburger, Hot Dog and Chicken Sandwich with chips as your side. So each inning, they made their way back and I do believe they tried all 3 things (many times). Logan ended up eating 3 hamburgers, I had 1 cheeseburger and 100 drinks and I lost count between Kyle and Dad!

Dash did win....4-3. They had a 4-1 run the whole time until the last inning. After the game they had fireworks. I thought they were really good...I mean, no Disney World but they were excellent! The lady told Logan that afterward the fireworks, the kids get the chance to run the bases, but Logan decided not too because he was too tired.

Logan bought Papa and his daddy a Dash hat for an "early" Father's Day. And Logan got himself an awesome looking Yankees hat :)...Kid after my own heart!!

We had a great night...And most of it was "free"!!

Run, Run Amanda, Run!

Tonight will be a 1st for Kyle and I. We have joined a Kickball League...Yes, I said Kickball!! I am very excited over this! I am very much into sports....although some say I am into them alittle too much! Normally, I go for blood! In high school, I was alittle "too" into sports and that caused me to foul out of most basketball games.

They have started this new league at our church. We are playing against other members. Last week was the first game but we had to miss it due to having baseball tickets. I am so excited over this, although I know I am VERY much out of shape!! Kyle told me that I was not allowed to lose my temper or to cry if I got hit really hard with the ball!! ....He always looks out for me!

I will write again about my war wounds...So stay tuned!

I am......

I am a peace-maker. I am one not to speak my mind just to keep the peace. I am one that tries to avoid confrontation as much as possible. I am one that cares way too much about what people think about me. I am one not to stand my ground. I am one that gets pushed around. I am one that bottles everything up inside and let's it just eat away at my insides instead of letting it out.

I have a very hot, short temper and when it goes off, people take me the wrong way. So because of fear of being "unliked" or "talked about", I bottle it all up and avoid all confrontations. I give in to a lot of things just to keep that peace. I avoid telling everyone everything about a situation just to keep that peace. This isn't a good thing to do!

I have learned several important lessons:

1) Words can be misread

2) Your writing and feelings may not come across the same way as hoped.

3) You have "friends" that are waiting and watching to stir up trouble.

4) Facebook can be evil

5) Don't always avoid confrontation. Sometimes it is needed!

6) Don't always give in.

7) Don't let yourself get walked all over. Speak up!

8) If they are true friends, they will listen, take note and forgive you!

9) Do what you feel is right.

10) You only have to answer for yourself.

PJ's, Pizza, Games and Crazy Girls!

My Sunday School class started a monthly activity for the "Diva's". Tonight the party is at my house and the theme is PJ, Pizza and Games!! The diva's are required to have their pj's on or they are not entering the party!

I am so excited...for many reasons but the main one is because I LOVE to play games! Also, over the past several months we have gotten new couples in our Sunday School class and I am looking so forward to getting to know some of them better! I have about 13 people signed up so I know this is going to be a blast!! They all better wear their pj's!!

Special Thanks to my babysitter's

This has been a busy week so far. Mom and Dad are on vacation so that means we had to find a babysitter each day for Logan. Lucky, for us we both had Monday off, so I actually only needed someone for 4 days. I hate asking people to set aside their daily routine or summer routine to help me out. I feel like a burden but I am very blessed to have willing people.

For the past several years when they go on vacation, my good friend Heather has kept Logan at least one day. Logan has so much fun with Eli and according to Heather, they play so well together. So Logan had requested that Mrs. Heather keep him again. I know that she is willing and I truly appreciate that but Heather has 3 little ones of her own so I hate adding 1 more to that total. But I called and asked anyways...And of course, the answer was yes!! So Tuesday morning, Logan packed up his baseball stuff and we headed to Heather's. Eli was excited because he wanted Logan to teach him some new soccer tricks and Logan was just excited to play with Eli. Logan spent the whole day over there. Heather said they played outside most of the day. Logan was so tired when we got home that he fell asleep very early. He had such a great day with the Burnette's...Heather, I want to give you a BIG THANK YOU for keeping my boy!!

Wednesday was my sister's turn to keep her sweet nephew :). Logan always enjoys staying with Aunt Christy and he loves playing with the girls. Logan has really gotten into baseball (thanks to Emma) so he was excited to take his glove and bat over there for the day. They played outside, played with Play-dough, watched TV and then my sister took them to the pool!! Logan really enjoyed himself with Aunt Christy! I am so blessed to have so many willing people! THANK YOU CHRISTY for keeping him!!!

Today the babysitter is Kyle! So I am sure there is a lot of fun things going on at home today!! Tomorrow will be Aunt Christy's day again!! YAY!! Logan is enjoying this week and I am just blessed to have wonderful friends!

Amazing Weekend

FRIDAY:
Friday was Logan's last day of school. He has been counting down the days for a while now. He was so ready to get out of school! He sure is going to Miss Nease but he was ready for a break! Friday was his Award's Day and Kyle and I both had decided to take the whole day off. Friday started out great because Kyle let me sleep in as he took Logan to school. I am very proud of Logan's grades this year. He did wonderful...He loved each class this year. He didn't get A/B Honor Roll because his grades kept jumping around when it came to Writing...He did wonderful in everything else. And, he did receive 3 trophies for Soccer this year. He was awarded MVP for the Light Blue Jets and 2 championship trophies for Blue Jets and Red Rockets. ~Logan, we are very proud of you!! You have accomplished alot this year and you have made us very proud!~
SATURDAY:
Saturday, was a "surprise day" for Kyle and Logan. They had no idea what I had planned. They knew I was taking them somewhere that they had never heard of and I was pretty sure we didn't know anyone that has been there. This had them stumped :)! I took them to Tiger World. It's in Rockwell, NC and it was really neat. Logan loves stuff like this. They had Tigers, Lions, White Tigers, Black Bears, Monkeys, Peacocks, Snakes, Ligers, Timber Wolves, Panthers...etc! It was an amazing place! I believe that it is just getting started because they were fixing it up, so if you go, don't go thinking it is going to look like the zoo because it will be a let-down for you, but I would suggest going. Logan loved that the one of the Monkeys copied everything that he would do. He has a very funny story to tell too...So you will have to ask him about "his mom's new boyfriend!"...he loves telling the story!

Tiger World was only about 20 mins from Concord Mills so I had planned to take them next to Nascar Speed Park. Logan has never gotten to drive a Go Kart himself, so I was very happy that he was tall enough this time. Logan cracked me up driving those cars...He is NOT ready to drive a real car!! He kept cutting people off and making them wreck...Afterwards, he said "Dad, it was a race and I did drive like a Nascar driver so that's why I won!" Logan did beat his dad!! That made his day!!

We then just came home and spent the rest of the day together!!

MONDAY:
Kyle and I had this day off as well for Memorial Day. We had decided together that it was going to be a lazy day! Lazy Day was supposed to consist of playing outside, riding bikes, playing in the sprinkler...etc, but instead it RAINED! What a bummer to see the beautiful weekend end with rain, but we were able to spend it together and we still had a wonderful time!! We did finish the night with milkshakes from Kernel Kustards and a little Wii baseball!
God has truly blessed me with a wonderful family who enjoys each other!!

And then came Old Age

My loving and dear family members like to say..."There is always something wrong with Amanda! If it is going to happen, it's going to happen to her!" So, here lately I try not to complain about anything...I don't care if I would cut my leg off...I WILL NOT COMPLAIN!

This past week my wrist had really been bothering me. Every time I moved it, I would get a sharp, shooting pain through my hand/arm. I still didn't complain. Friday, was Logan's award's day at school and Kyle and I both had decided to take the day off. My arm had been really swollen that morning and I just mentioned to Kyle about it. After the award's, Logan had picked to eat at Texas Roadhouse. By this time, my wrist was really swollen and it looked rather bruised. During lunch, I couldn't even cut my steak. Kyle finally said, "We are going to Prime Care!"

So, off to to Prime Care we went....Only to find out...I am getting OLD! Actually they told me that I was suffering from Tendinitis. They told me that I needed to wear a splint for 3 weeks and try not to use my hand alot. I don't think he realized that I am right-handed and that my job requires me to type for 8hrs!! (Not to mention, I love to text) Anyways, I have been trying to follow the rules but it has been rather hard. Today, has been really hard...Trying to type with 1 hand and write with my left hand! Let's just say, I am glad Miss Nease isn't grading me on my writing :).

I am really not liking the start to Old Age!!
